Cover Reveal - The Heartbreak Cowboy

*Old flames burn hotter the second time around…*
It’s been four long years since McCrea Coldiron watched Eleanor Mackenna
walk out of his life. He wasn’t ready for the marriage noose then and never
thought he would be. Single, free to do as he pleases, and running the
Promise Point Horse Rescue Ranch are the things that make him sure he was
right to let Eleanor go… This is until she comes back to town with a
daughter he never knew about in tow.
Eleanor knows just how badly McCrea can burn a woman and how persuasive
he can be when he wants something, so she’s more than cautious about
his charming words and cocky grin when she comes home to arrange the
sale of her grandparents’ ranch. But when a flat tire in a thunderstorm
introduces four-year-old Sophie to her daddy, Eleanor knows McCrea’s love
for his daughter is genuine. Can she trust it will be the same for her? As
the icy walls around her heart begin to melt, Eleanor must find the courage
to trust her heart or run away from the man who has always owned it.
Being shown what he lost is a wake-up call for McCrea and he isn’t about to
let Eleanor or Sophie walk away. It’s time to prove he’s a man who believes
in love and happy-ever-after.

Cover Reveal - August by Amarie Avant

August Reiss
Seven years ago, the love of my life and my parents died a robbery gone wrong.
Do you know what that can do to a professionally trained hitman?
Now, I work for a government organization, my next assignment is to infiltrate the Marchand’s crew.
The information is vague.
But what takes the cake, is that the family “business” of crooks I’m to investigate, includes a Bajan little sister whose lips are the definition of sex and trouble.
And yet Natalia’s soft curves are off limits—not because her brothers will bash my head in.
No, she is capable of offing me herself.
Natalia Marchand
Anything a man can do, I can do it better.
I’ve lived by that credo my entire life, and with my dangerous ‘job’ it’s always been true.
I’m a rich man’s kryptonite, I can pretend to desire you, and then execute a plan to take all you own.
My brother’s and I live a dangerous lifestyle.
Then in walks muscles, murky green eyes, and a cocky smile. August needs a place to stay, and he’s saved my kid brother’s life.
Now, he’s a god to my brothers. Can he really be trusted?
But I’ll put a bullet to his head if he proves my intuition is right.

Sue's Review - This is the first book that I have read by Janice Ross. It was a bit different from the books that I normally read, but it was very interesting and an awesome read. This is the story of Lucas and Shaya, who have been friends for years. But – are they just friends?? – or – are they in love and not acknowledging it???

I can’t tell you that because it would ruin the book for you!!! But this is definitely one of those books that once you start reading it, you will find it hard to put it down until you finish it!!! Can’t wait to start reading more of Janice Ross’s books!!!

Janice Ross was born in Guyana, South America and migrated to the USA in 1980. Although her citizenship certificate now reads the United States of America, she considers herself a citizen of the
world. Sure she has not physically been around the world and back, but she’s travelled in her mind and dreams. Janice enjoys Zumba, Kickboxing, and most exercise classes. Book Review - Storm by Gurpreet Kaur Sidhu

I received a copy for my honest review, no other compensation was received.
The first in a series, Storm is a twists-and-turns thriller driven by compelling characters challenged by dangerous forces, both external, internal, and eternal.
Evan Storm had been confronted by his past (an unpleasant one at that) in his dreams, and now in his waking life. He is struggling to reconcile the evil that lurks in his soul. Shadow Hex is his new neighbor, who also fears a dangerous past – her former fiancĂ© who works for the Secret Eye Agency (which is as shadowy and sinister as it sounds). Does Shadow hold the key to Evan’s redemption? Is redemption even possible?

Amazon

Review - This is the first book that I have read by Gurpreet Kaur Sidhu - I can say that it is not the typical book that I would be found reading BUT once I started reading it, I found it hard to stop!!! This is the first book of a series but you can read it as a standalone novel.

Evan Storm wakes up from terrible nightmares every morning at 3:30am. He dreams of a past life as an abusive husband. Evan and his sister Denise live with their grandmother because they believe that their parents were killed in two separate accidents. When Shadow Hex moves in next door to Evan, he recognizes her as a reincarnation of his abused wife from a previous life. OK -- I don't write spoilers, so I have to stop and say that you really need to read this for yourself.

Born and raised in California, Gurpreet Kaur Sidhu always had an insatiable appetite for reading and writing. She would often be reprimanded for working on literary ventures when she should have been paying attention to teachers. In addition to being a highly accomplished writer, Sidhu is a passionate businesswoman, holding a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and running a women’s clothing company with her younger sister.

Valerie Puri has always had a lifelong interest in all forms of artistic expression. She has tried her hand at many things, yet she always found her way back to reading and writing. With inspiration everywhere, she finally put pen to paper (or rather, fingers to keyboard) with the intent of publishing her stories.
Writing has always come naturally to Valerie, and for a time she even worked as a technical writer. She continues to hone her skills by having at least one writing project in the works at any given time. Her true passion lies in the freedom that comes with writing the stories that pour from her imagination and real life inspiration.
Valerie believes that the experiences we have in life are just stories waiting to be written.
WOW - first book that I have read by Valerie Puri - and I can foresee that it will not be the last!!!

The main character of the book is Jennie Caraway. She has lived behind the wall for her entire life. She listens to what the Elders say -- but she knows that it should not be totally believed. Her main concern is protecting her and her brother. One day Ethan shows up in her barn -- she immediately doesn't ask questions, but treats his injuries. Once she talks more to Ethan she starts to question what the Elders are doing. OK - I have to stop there, or I'll be telling you the whole story.

This is definitely an awesome story and one that you will find hard to put down until you reach the ending. AND THEN -- you will be asking: When is the second book in the trilogy going to be released????

Book Review - The Last April by Belinda Kroll

Spontaneous, fifteen-year-old Gretchen vows to help heal the nation from the recently ended Civil War. On the morning of President Lincoln’s death, Gretchen finds an amnesiac Confederate in her garden and believes this is her chance for civic goodwill.
But reconciliation is not as simple as Gretchen assumed. When her mother returns from the market with news that a Confederate murdered the president, Gretchen wonders if she caught the killer. Tensions between her aunt and mother rise as Gretchen nurses her Confederate prisoner, revealing secrets from their past that make Gretchen question everything she knows about loyalty, honor, and trust.
The Last April is an entertaining, thoughtful novella of Ohio after the Civil War, meant to encourage readers to reflect on themes of fear and hope in uncertain political times.
Review - I'll start by saying that Belinda Kroll is a new author for me to read -- and OMG, she is an amazing author!!! She did an awesome job of researching the story - which really made the reading of the book more enjoyable. The amazing American history facts that were written into the story made the reading a pleasant experience.

This story starts by introducing you to Gretchen - a teenage girl who lives in Ohio during the civil war. When she discovers a soldier while working in her garden of her home, Gretchen isn't sure what she should do. She and her Aunt move the stranger into their home and start to render him aid. At the same time, they realize the war has ended and then that President Lincoln has been assassinated. As the story continues, Gretchen begins to learn things about her past that she had no idea about. I don't write spoilers -- but, OMG this was an amazing book to read!!!

This was an easy read - a fun escape back into time!! I really enjoy historical type novels - especially when they are historically accurate!!
