Stacking the Deck is the 3rd book in the Dangerous Pasts series -- you will find it beneficial to read the 1st book (Closing the Gap) and the 2nd book (Song of the Keys) before reading this one. Since this book picks up where the second one left off, that will help you make more sense out of this book.

In this book, a devastating injury leaves marine biologist, Ben Roberts, without the use of his legs. Christina Lorde, his sexy therapist, is determined to help him walk again. I don't write spoilers, but you really need to read this book to find out exactly WHO is stacking the deck against them.

This book is definitely another one of those ---- I can't put this book down until I finish, so make sure you have time to devote to reading when you start - lol

Sue's Review:

I will start with stating that Colleen Charles is a new author for me to read. I was asked to read her new series and when I first started CLOSING THE GAP - which is the first book of the Dangerous Pasts series - I wasn't really sure what to expect.

I found that she put so much description in the beginning of the book -- that it was hard to figure out exactly where she was going. But once I got past that part, I realized that this detailing of this was so necessary!!! Without the details, there are a lot of things that just would not have made sense!!!

Lake (the main character of this book) is a victim of domestic violence. Because of the way that she was treated by her ex-husband, she doesn't feel like she deserves to be loved. I don't write spoilers - so I will just say, you need to read the book!!! Like I said before - the beginning goes slowish - but then when it picks up, you will find it hard to put this book down!!!

A new author for me to read and I really did love the book!!! It was a little different from the normal books that I read but was still quite enjoyable.

The way that Emilyann writes makes it possible to imagine exactly what the characters look like and also the world of the Labyrinth. There are parts that appear to be creepy - like the Rotting Pass - but they really make the story that much more interesting. I don't write spoilers - but I can say that it is a very interesting read!!!

Amazing Dystopian Fantasy

I’m a big fan of fantasy fiction provided it isn’t super sweet and cute and I am so glad I read The Labyrinth Wall. The Labyrinth Wall is a great adventure with a dystopian fantasy feel. Ariana and Darith go from one exciting adventure to another which makes the book impossible to put down. There is a constant quest to learn whether there is really something better outside the labyrinth walls. If you enjoy books like The Hobbit (with a slightly lighter feel), you will definitely enjoy The Labyrinth Wall by Emilyann Girdner. I can’t wait to read the next book.

I enjoy books about puzzles, mysteries, riddles, adventure and suspense. Some of the best books for those ingredients are stories involving a labyrinth. There aren't many books that deliver the same kind of entertainment and excitement as a well-written labyrinth adventure. This is one such book, and is one I really enjoyed.

OMG - never read anything by Rachel Mannino before and was totally amazed at the awesome job that she did with this book!!!!

When I was asked to read this book and review it, I didn't realize that it was 400 pages long - but, OMG, it was really a quick read even with that in mind.

The main character - Laurie, who works at a resort as a maid - walks into a penthouse suite where the most wanted criminal, Kaimi, is holding hostage a mom and her child. She has to talk fast to get him to let her leave the room - but overhears that he still wants him men to kill her after they leave the resort. When she returns to her room, she informs the police about it. Laurie is then placed in the Witness Protection Program and she is under the protection of US Marshall Dante Stark. I don't write spoilers - but OMG, the rest of the story that follows will keep you on the edge of your seat!!! The romance and suspense is awesome!!!

This book appears to be the first of the PROTECT AND SERVE series and I can hardly wait for the next book to be released!!!

 Review - WOW WOW WOW - this was awesome!!!

I will start by saying - if you haven't read Wrenching Fate (1st book of the series) or Ironic Sacrifice (2nd book of the series) - you really should read these before reading Conjuring Destiny (3rd book of the series). It will make a lot more sense if you know what has previously happened.

Famous rock star, Xochitl Leonine, has dreamt of a world with two moons where a black cloaked man beckons her. One Halloween night, she meets the mysterious stranger of her dreams… literally... and their shared dance becomes a rendezvous in a place of endless night. I don't write spoilers - but OMG - when reading this I found it hard to stop reading until I finished the book!!! When I though I had things figured out, Brooklyn Ann through a twist at me that kept this book so interesting that it was unreal!!!
