#BookReview 'e-Murderer' by Joan C. Curtis

e-Murderer copy

e-Murderer

On this anything but typical Monday morning Jenna Scali, who works part-time for a shrink, opens an email that depicts the brutal death of a young girl. On that same day the police uncover a dead coed two blocks from Jenna’s house. The e-murderer’s description creepily echos the death described in the newspapers.

When Jenna receives other emails, she takes what she knows to the police and thus begins her journey in the path of the e-murderer. Her curious nature impels her from e-messages to dead coeds to a ring of prostitutes. With the help of her quirky friends, Jenna learns that she’s more than a conduit for the killer. She’s his target. New secrets unfold, and finally her love life takes a tumble when the true killer emerges.

THE E-MURDERER is a race to find a psychotic killer before he kills again.

This new mystery series with a young female sleuth promises to keep you glued to your seat until the last page.

**Antoinette's review**

Murder mysteries are always a fun read. The suspense is awesome. Jen works for a therapist and begins to receive strange emails. This person speaks of death and killing and how that makes him feel. The detail is quite disturbing to her. She assumes it's a patient trying to get attention... But things get much worse. She discovers the murders are really happening. She decides to try to figure out if in fact the connections there. There's so many things she does that are crazy. The risks she takes. This person begins to leave her notes at her home, using her name... You begin to wonder who in her life could be doing this. Everyone is a suspect. Intriguing story and very well written details.

I was given this book for my honest review and now you have it.

#BookReview 'Sapphire Beautiful' by Ren Monterrey

sapphire beautiful tour banner

Sapphire BeautifulWe both joined The Club and made an arrangement. I got the money to pay my mortgage and he got access to my body, whenever and however he wanted it...

SAPPHIRE BEAUTIFUL, a new full-length, stand-alone novel in Ren Monterrey's THE CLUB series.

I never imagined that I'd be starting my fifth year as a faculty member in the Medieval Studies department as a thirty-two-year-old widow. I'm sure to be the butt of every joke around campus as the collateral damage of a sex scandal that made national headlines. And my husband left me completely broke after he killed himself.

I don't want to lose my house and all the money I invested in it so I make an arrangement through The Club. I'll get what I need...money to get out of the financial ruins my dead husband left me in. And Dante McNally will get what he wants...access to my body...whenever and however he wants it...

There's only one catch. Dante is one of our new graduate students and the recipient of a prestigious research fellowship funded by his billionaire father. And this is the year I'm supposed to be applying for tenure.

Antoinette's Review:

I am so happy I read this book. I'm not a big romance book reader. But this story just was amazing.

Mary is a widowed teacher of a man who cheated with students and then killed himself. But before he ended himself, he cleaned out their bank accounts and didn't pay bills for months. So here she is, in her dream home with threats of it being taken away. By cab ce she over hears about an exclusive club that's an escort business of sorts. She figures she has nothing to lose. She's a 32 year old attractive woman... What she signs up for is so much more than she could ever imagine...

There is some graphic sex scenes... FYI but the story is excellent and even the sex scenes are pretty mild compared to some other.

I was given this book for my honest review. And now you have it.

Sue's Review:

Wow - I am always a sucker for a good detective type story - and Amber C Carlyle did NOT disappoint me. Having never read anything by Ms Carlyle, I can honestly say that I hope to continue to read her books!!!

I wasn't really sure what to expect when I started this book - but I did love the way that Amber C Carlyle developed the story. Yumi seems to be all caught up in the mystery of trying to figure out what happened to her brother when he disappeared 10 years ago. With the fact that it takes place in New Orleans, makes the mystical type happenings seem real. (Not that they couldn't be). I don't write spoilers - but believe me, this book is so worth reading!!! And once you start reading it, you will find that it is hard to stop reading until you reach the end.

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.
About the author:
Amber CHorror, Fantasy, Humor

Nothing thrills me more than a wonderful blend of those three elements, and that’s what I strive to bring to the words in my books: whether it’s an urban fantasy suspense/mystery, or a fantasy short story taking the reader down a dark and wayward road. Life is rarely so black and white to be just any one of these things, and humor can be as dark as it can be light.

It also has a great way of cutting the tension, even if not everyone finds it funny. That’s okay. It’s good that we’re all different in the end.

But, no need to fret. I try to incorporate my own weird, and probably twisted humor, into the things I discuss. Some are things that catch my fancy that I just need to share, others are serious topics that I can’t help myself but state. Most times, they will be the little things that inspire me to keep writing. I pull inspiration from my shows, movies, and games (video, board, and tabletop RPGs). The littlest thing can spark my brain into running a marathon disseminating the information until it resembles what it needs it to.

I want to share my passions in this world, and that’s more than just my own writings. I love to be engrossed by a world that let’s me walk its own twisted paths. It doesn’t have to be glamorous, and it doesn’t have to be happy. But it has to be a good story, and the best stories have to be shared. I want to share my best stories with you, and I want to share the stories by others that move me.

#BookReview 'All For Family (A Rawley Family Novel)' by Olivia Hardin

AFF & TP tour banner

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000035_00016]Wedding bells will soon be ringing in the Rawley family, but gearing up for Van and Kay’s nuptials revives old insecurities for Kay’s sister-in-law Meg. When she learns that her ex-husband is asking for her from his hospital bed, Meg must confront the painful memories of her past.

Family is everything for Jeremy Rawley. Most important is the one he and Meg created together. But their beginning was tangled in memories he wishes his wife could forget for good. A call from her past brings them back to a place he thought they’d never have to be again.

Forgiveness may be the key, but the first step is finding the locked heart that needs it.

Sue's Review:

I will start by saying, if you haven't read ALL FOR HOPE - you need to read it before reading ALL FOR FAMILY. Now, it is not a MUST to read it first, but it will help with making sense out of some of what is going on. The Rawley Family series is one of the best series that I have read lately. It takes ever day type situations and incorporates them into the story.

In All for Family, Meg (the main character) is a real type woman. She has issues with her body size, has a snake of a husband (ex-husband) and she is attracted to a handsome and powerful type man. The relationship between her best friend - who also happens to be her ex's sister - is something a lot of us have to deal with when a relationship ends. I don't write spoilers -- but when Meg goes to see her ex at the end of the story, you will definitely be on the verge of tears!!!

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

Sue's Review:
Dakota Madison is a new author for me to read and I was NOT disappointed with Rye Must Die!!!

In Rye Must Die, we are first introduced to Izzy as she is working in the antique shop - she inherited this from her Grandmother. Max is new in town and is starting a Paranormal Investigations business. Rye is a biker who seems to show up at odd times. I don't write spoilers -- and with this being a short and sweet type book, there isn't a lot that one can say in regards to what takes place without giving away the story. When you start reading, make sure you have a couple of hours to read - because once you start reading you will find it hard to stop until you finish the book!!!

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.

swords of death tour banner

Swordof Deaths
Sword of Deaths

Susan Sarnio made a choice, and will spend the rest of her life as the only female Death. Last year she was bullied and ostracized. Now, to her complete bewilderment, four Deaths vie for her affection. Yet, something is terribly wrong at the College of Deaths. When a ship carrying scythe metal is attacked, many blame the newly-freed Elementals, but Susan knows the Elementals are innocent.

Shadows from the distant past come to light. Dragons circle the horizon, blood spills, and nothing is what it seems. Susan and her friends struggle to stop a war. They search for the fabled First Scythe, hoping to sway the balance, but who is the true enemy?

Antoinette's Review:

Susan has had to make some big decisions for such a young age... I was so excited to see a book two on this series. Book two she is growing into this part. She has now excepted her life in this in between place. She dives into the histories and tries to figure out the missing pieces about who plays what roll in this world. Susan also realizes her feelings for Will (not going by Billy any longer) and realizes she has all these boys looking at her because she's the only female Death. Oh what could go wrong there. This is full of mystery and danger and adventures you don't expect. Loved it. Oh.... And one more thing, dragons.... Oh yes. There are dragons!! Enjoy!! This was given to me for my honest opinion... You got it. :)
